The laboratory is focused on evaluation of surface, microstructure, chemical and electrochemical characteristics of structural materials.
For evaluation of surface, microstructure and chemical characteristics of structural materials the laboratory is equipped with a scanning electron microscope Phenom XL G2, which is equipped with an EDX analyzer for evaluation of local chemical composition of the material. In the case of non-conductive samples, the laboratory is also equipped with a gold or amorphous carbon sputter coater.
The laboratory is also equipped with a modular system for evaluation of electro-chemical characteristics in high resolution Biologic M470The device is used for advanced corrosion tests, evaluation of local electro-chemical properties, evaluation of microstructure changes, membrane flow and so on.
